The Best Travel Apps for iPhone & Android

The more I travel, the geekier I get about the process. I want to focus on the experience of being somewhere, not the process of getting there. I regularly fly 14+ hours to get to my destination, so I’m trying at every point to make it easier on myself. These are the indispensable apps to make my journey smoother.

7 Things To Do at Ocean Park Hong Kong

A single day in Hong Kong is a sensory-busting experience. Get an early start at the massive Ocean Park — Hong Kong’s answer to SeaWorld, but much more animal-friendly (they don’t have Orcas). Hop on the clean and efficient metro system (MTR) and within minutes you can be there. Upon entering Ocean Park, pause to snap a few…

My 3 Most Embarrassing Travel Mistakes

Checking-In to the Wrong Hotel in Nice It was my maiden trip to Europe and my friend Alexis and I had just spent five glorious days floating around London. Macau Tower offers the best views of the city and the world’s highest bungy jump. The less adventurous among us (ahem, me) can test our courage as we walk along the glass floor at the observation deck more than 700-feet in the air. From the tour, you can admire the pastel colored buildings and even see the under-construction Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge that will be the world’s longest at 31 miles! The tower also offers dining, shopping, and entertainment.

Skyline Rotorua, New Zealand

These images come from the New Zealand archive. Skyline Rotorua was a stop on our 9-day Campervan Mystery Tour across North and South Islands. I was pleasantly surprised to find furry creatures at the top of the hill — two friendly alpacas and a handful of sheep noshing on the foliage. In case you didn’t…
