As you know, I’ve been on the Great American Roadtrip since last year. It may look like pure bliss, but I’ve also been working pretty hard the whole time. The misconception that digital nomads have trust funds simply doesn’t apply to me.

Not that I’m complaining. I got to produce a documentary for CNN’s Great Big Story while I was in Cali. I’m super proud of the subject matter and grateful to Great Big Story for green-lighting my pitch.

Hidden among the homes and businesses of Compton sits an unlikely stable. At The Compton Jr. Posse, kids from the neighborhood learn to ride and care for horses. They also compete in serious events. Shola Oyefeso, a member of the group, says she’s proud to ride for Compton, and though the horses are donated, that doesn’t change the bond riders have with them.
