Checking in to the luxurious Maya Ubud is a five-star experience. Bali is hot and you’ll be sweaty from a day zipping around in a taxi bound for temples, coffee plantations, rice fields, and beaches. At Maya Ubud, you’re greeted with a welcome drink and a cold towel. Cool off in the open-air lobby before you’re whisked away to a colorful, modern room overlooking a meandering river, a garden courtyard, or (you guessed it) rice fields.
The breakfast buffet is stocked with delicious fruit juice, pastries, and pretty much everything you’d want.
The resort caters to the western crowd but with typical Balinese hospitality. Ubud Maya is the top of the food chain as far as prices and honestly, Balinese villas are notoriously luxurious even at $45/night.
My favorite part of the resort is the grounds. Take a walk along the river to a trickling waterfall then cool off in the infinity pool. The light at sunrise is psychedelic.

Oh my goodness, this place looks insanely beautiful. I want to jump in the pool, sleep in that bed, hike that little trail. I’m about to book my ticket now!

Ah so nice! This is what we missed during our Bali trip. We decided to stay by the beach and skip the tours! Another reason to go back to Bali 🙂

This is one of those hotels that I see in those “top 10 luxurious hotel” pins that make me desperate to be a millionaire! What an incredible experience! Would love to go to this hotel one day!

Hi Katie. Thanks for reading! I assure you I’m not a millionaire! After staying a week at a beautiful villa for $40/night, we decided to splurge for one nights at Maya Ubud. Upcoming post will be about how you don’t need to spend much money to have a great time in Bali!
